Birdfeeder
Old Satellite Dish to Birdfeeder
If you no longer use your old (small) satellite dish, turn it into a great bird feeder/bird bath.
There are several options for how to do this. The necessary item is a small, unused satellite dish.
Option one is a feeder, and is used with satellite dishes that have been mounted on your home/roof with a bracket.
1.) Simply remove the bracket from your home (cables should already be disconnected).
2.) Keep bracket attached to satellite dish.
3.) Attach bracket section that was mounted to your home to a tree or post in need of a bird feeder.
4.) Level satellite dish/feeder so that it is parallel with the ground.
Option two is a feeder or bath, and is used with satellite dishes that are mounted in the ground with a post/pole.
1.) As with above, make sure cables have been removed.
2.) Keep satellite dish where it is, or move it to more desirable location.
3.) Rotate satellite dish so that it is parallel to the ground, making a large bowl for water/feed.
Option three is a bath/water feature, and is used with either of the above two options.
1.) This option is slightly more difficult.
2.) Remove satellite dish from location.
3.) Carefully drill 3/4 inch hole in center of satellite dish.
4.) Purchase landscaping pool of desired size, but at least as large as the diameter of the satellite dish.
5.) Purchase water pump and utilities to create water feature.
6.) Attach them to the satellite dish, fill pool with water, sink water pump, turn on, enjoy.
